T-Series Brake Light Switches

My 73 MGB has gone through four brake light switches in four seasons. I drive it about 1,500-2,000 miles per season (year) and that's about how long the switches last. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas what to do about it (besides continuing to buy new switches)?

I don't have personal experience with this, but some people suggest adding a relay to the circuit to protect the brake switch, because they find the replacement switches available just don't last long without it.

The relay can be purchased from Radio Shack, it is just a generic 30 amp automotive Single Pole Single Throw relay. Somewhere I have a schematic of how to wire it -- If you're interested, I can email it to you.

(I had a brake light switch quit on me, but I put a new one in and its been working fine, so I didn't bother with the relay.)

You have a dual-line system, I believe, so this wouldn't apply, but I have a single-line system, and there's a Lucas brand switch available for $24 that's much better than the $9 one Moss sells. But as I said, don't know about availability of better quality switches for a '73.
