T-Series Brake/clutch fluid

Is it recommended to use the non corrosive silicon brake fluid in a '73 MGB brake and clutch system? Both master cylinders are new but there is still some Dot3 in the lines and cylinders which I suppose can be forced out with the new silicon. I have heard that the braking is spongy when using this type of fluid. Any comments?
 
Dot3/Dot4 works great. The only advantage to using silicone (dot5) is that it doesn't eat paint when you spill it (and it doesn't absorb moisture). use a funnel, a rag, and pour carefully. Dot5 also does not mix with Dot3/4.
 
I'm with Kenny - no reason to change & lots of problems if you don't do it correctly.

There is ~nothing wrong~ with Castrol LMA fluid.

...Just my tuppence-worth.
 
Castrol LMA is basically synthetic Dot4, so yes it and Valvoline Synpower (also synthetic Dot4) work well too.
 
I use the cheapest DOT 4 I can buy!
 
Speeking of cheep, I got 5 qt of Castrol 20-50W at Kmart yesterday for just under 10 dollars.

Darn Kmart did not have the rest of the Castrol line.
