Brake Calipers

On the 73 the only remaining parts of the original hydraulic system besides the metal pipes are the front brake calipers. So far they have worked great but since they are older than I am I'm thinking its time to replace them or rebuild them before they either leave me stranded or under the back of a truck.

I know I can them from the local kragen for less than $80 for the pair but has anyone tried these and had good results? Or should I be looking at another supplier? I don't mind spending a reasonable amount more in this area.

According to John Twist, If they are leaking, they need to be repaired or replaced, If they are not, then they are OK. Take that FWIW.

I've rebuilt mine with good results (knocks on wood). Cleanliness is important.

Same here, I last rebuilt mine over ten years ago. If they are working, leave them be. When rebuilding, like vping says, keep things clean. Also make sure you split the calipers to get everything cleaned out.
