In one photo of the 61 TR3 that is for sale in the Classifieds I noticed that there are no "stop bolts" for the MC rods to pedal connection. Are the bolts just missing or did Triumph discontinue them in 61? While were on the subject....what is the correct length for the stop bolts when installed? What affect would having a clutch stop bolt too long have on clutch operation?

They were eliminated - long before '61 I think.

I'm pretty sure my '59 should not have them - but I added a pair to take up some slop in the pedal hole - clevis pin fitting. Not the best 'fix' but removed some minor free travel until such time I have the works out and can weld and re-drill those holes:

As for 'too much' bolt - I think you still want to have a smidge of free play in both pedals for proper operation.

I adjusted mine so they just start to push on the pedal so they hit the stop before bottoming out,but I don't think they are necessary. If they stop the pedal to soon the valve for the reservoir will stay closed and not refill .The valve closes in the first 1/16 or so of movement.
