TR6 Braided Steel Brake and Clutch Lines for TR-6

I am gathering parts for to update my complete braking system. I'll be using Toyota calipers and wheel cylinders for the Morgan or Sunbeam.

I'm getting new hard lines from classictube.com. They also sell made to order braided steel lines.

I would like to compare their cost to the big 3. With nice weather, I haven't been in too much of a hurry to take things apart (I do have a slowly leaking wheel cylinder).

Does anyone know the lengths and fitting sizes and flare types of the various hoses on a '74 TR-6 (including the plastic clutch line)? Thanks to everyone for your help.

Hi David

As far as I remember, all the brake hoses are 3/8x24 thread, all male. For a late TR6 the connection to the caliper is metric (10x1.0 thread?) but that is a hard line.

The clutch hose uses 7/16x20 thread I think, with one male and one female end. That's what mine has, though of course you will check your arrangement before taking my word for it!

For what it's worth, I got my braided brake hoses from a chap on ebay.co.uk - I don't remember the price now, but it was cheaper than the US suppliers, even with shipping. He seemed to have a set up most of the time when I was looking, but that was over a year ago

Hope that helps
Alistair
