Just remember, brake hoses go bad on the inside and regardless of what the outside cover is, their rubber inside and subject to deterioration over time causing a valving effect. But, saying that, new ones should last 20 years with no worries, maybe longer. My 72 MGBs fuel suction line was covered with a braided cover and the problem with those were, you can't see any cracks forming in the rubber hose under it. My hose cracked and began to let air in causing bubbles in the fuel. They don't run very well when this happens. PJ
