Our grandson, Tim Skornia, has been the primary mount maker for the St Louis Art Museum for the last 7 years. He is featured in a couple of videos made for the International Mountmaker Forum. He gives a tour of his lab, the equipment and items he has made to make his job easier. it is titled 'St Louis Art Museum Virtual Mount Lab Tour'. An interesting short segment is what he developed to sharpen larger drill bits. The second video is titled 'Mount Fixtures for Donald Judd Sculpture' which is interesting but above my pay grade. He does need to learn to look at the camera in the Q & A sessions!
You can see them by entering 'Tim Skornia' in the YouTube search bar.
We are very proud of him.

Didn't know there was a thing called a mount maker - now I do. (and very cool!)

Seems a mount maker would be a pretty important part of a museum display.

Definitely, he has a safe in the lab for the real expensive ones. He has also had some very heavy pieces they have moved.
Before Covid we tried to get down in nice weather to have lunch with him at a outdoors restaurant close by.
