My son who lives in Oklahoma and works for American Airlines, flies gliders for a hobby. He entered the national aerobatic championships in Texas a couple weeks ago with his own glider in the intermediate class and won a third place over all, a second place for the a normal pattern flight, (everyone has to fly this pattern), and first place for a pattern of his own design. For a pattern of the pilots own design, he received the highest points over all and this includes the experts. For this achievement, he got his name engraved on a trophy in the aerobatic hall of fame museum.
This is not his aircraft, but is the same make. A Pilatus B-4
