I tried to run malwarebytes from a stick like Dad said, but it wouldn't. I restored the system in safe mode and the virus appears to be gone, but I can't get online. I have Bellsouth DSL and it says there is a connection problem but it works fine on the laptop. Any suggestions?

The worm is still there, methinks. Boot back into safe mode and try running MalwareBytes again from there.

If you are running Windows, have you tried to restore your computer to an earlier date? Sometimes it clears up an unusual problem. If you have added files to it after the earliest restore date you choose, copy them to a stick or whatever so you don't loose them and hit restore. PJ

not sure if it does it but sometimes you have to really clean out your cache etc. I use CCleaner and ATF cleaner both.

If you are using internet explorer check to see if Work Offline is checked . If not, might be time for Winsockfix.
