Bought an 88 Esprit....

Yup. Sage words, indeed.

36 years of Lotus ownership have proven it personally. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

I plan on doing all the spanning myself from now on. I took her there to get an honest unbiased opinion on the mechanics of the Esprit. I had no idea I had told the tech to go nuts and fix everything..... oh well at least its mostly sorted.

So... I spent the entire day detailing and fixing small minor issues. The most major was the intake was sucking in hot air from the engine compartment instead of fresh forced air from the side scoop. The DPO tried to install an inter-cooler, but used so many elbows and poor fittings. Its a surprise I get any boost.... I have to replace the intake plenum from the turbo to intake to return her to stock. Does anyone have a non-finned intake plenum they want to sell?

I took her out for a spin..... WOW!!! I scared myself on a tiny one lane country road!!!

OK I love her again!!! She is very temperamental, but after all she is a LOTUS!

heh. Careful Greg! And remember: law enforcement does NOT react to spirited driving of a Lotus in the same way you do. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

In spite of the fact you're more in control at 100 MPH than the average SUV at 40.

I know these things. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif
