Boston on lockdown

Some views around Boston neighborhoods today. Police have put a "Shelter In Place" order in effect during the search. I've never seen these areas so empty, especially on a weekday during school holiday week. All public transport is shut down; all residents are to remain indoors.

Kenmore Square:

The usually jammed traffic tunnel into Watertown:

Historic Quincy Market:

Harvard Square 2pm EST. Harvard, and most other schools and shops, are closed:

Very Eerie seeing Kenmore Sq. so empty. I used to live and work in Brookline and know the area well. Thanks for posting that photo.

Wonder what Storrow Drive looks like?

Had a call from my sister -- she works in Chelsea and lives in Everett. She's at work (they were not part of the lockdown) but said their building is locked down and no one enters without a badge. Quite something to think of a city that big shut down.

Just found this webcam of Storrow Drive. Photo was taken at 4:15 on Friday... it should be packed with people going home....

Edit: I just realized that the above photo keeps updating.... when I first posted it at 4:15pm it was still daylight... now the photo shows nighttime.... very strange indeed.

Flip the switch and turn out his lights.

Na Billy, we need to know some things still. Patience. There are good folks on the ground there who will take care of things.

Looks like it's all handled now. And I do understand your thoughts here, trust me. Even a good Yankee Liberal like myself can appreciate them.

If he's proven guilty,I think that he should have his legs amputated,& it might sink in on what he did to some of the runners. Our Daughter said that she took pictures at the same gym that theolder brother trained at - it makes her sick to think about it. - Doug
