What are you guys using for boot seals. Looking at replacing the original (?)
seal, as seen in the first photo:

TRF's boot seal 608464 doesn't seem to match at all. This is the second boot seal I've gotten from TRF. The first, as I remember, was much thicker and heavier.

Strangely, the TRF bottom door seal, show in the next pic:

seems a better match... Any recommendations?

Maybe I'll ask Charles himself next month at Triumphest.

608464 is for a post-60K body. You need the pre-60K seal, 605810.

Thanks, Randall, thought I tried it before, but it was too big....

I'll give it another go.... Thx!

608464 arrived today from TRF, looks like a perfect fit. Hat tip again to Randall.

What was wrong with the original? A little Armor All and it'd be good as new!

Really, you'd think rubber seals would look better after 55 years! Harumph!

Hopefully, the new seal will cure a little squeak I've had back there the past 10 years...

Got around today to removing most of the old boot seal. Some places still had a tenacious grip after 55 years; other spots crumbled to dust. For those who have replaced the seal, did you use adhesive, or just press into place?
Hard for me to tell if there was adhesive used there before, or if the black residue is part of the original seal...
Also some places in the metal channel are tighter than others, especially around the corners. Is this right?
Thx!
