Boot seal for AH 3000

Can someone help? I need to know what is the proper way to install a boot seal on a AH 3000. I have seen the seal mounted on the boot side and on the body side as well.With way is correct?

Thanks in advance for any help.

And be prepared for the boot when shut to be a little proud. Seems like either the gasket is a bit too thick or it just needs to compress a little, which it will probably do over time.
 
Take care to put the seal in correct way around. The typical seal has a non-symetrical cross section. The thinner edge goes inboard.

And the ends of the seal at the bottom .. where the handle is. That way you won't get water leaking past the seal and getting into the boot (that's the theory anyway /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

Well yeah John,but that was before Super Glue.With superglue you can make a leak proof mirrored joint between the ends.---Keoke- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

Have you seen the flexible superglue? Cool stuff, but I haven't tried gluing my hardhat to a girder with it yet.

The glue I have is Grip-ton-ite by Devcon. Bought it at OSH. I went to the manufacturers site and they don’t seem to make it any more. Maybe it wasn’t that good. Here is another flex glue. I generally like this brand best. The Zap-it glues seem to hold where other “super glues” fall short. Pacer
 
Yes Greg, I am very familiar with Zap as a modeler.We feel it is the the top super glue to use.I guess you know that all better Hobby shops, Everitts there in SM, carry it and it comes in several different viscosities. Thin ,Thick and no Run.---Keoke
