In know its not the same but I could send you one of my boonies from one of my Mideast trips. It might east the pain.
 
'sokay, Don. I truly appreciate the offer but it'd be 'uncomfortable' for me to wear your generation's gear. Almost akin to stolen valor, IYSWIM.

If it doesn't appear soon I'll get to an A/N store and find a "period correct" acceptable counterfeit. :wink:

Doc, the solution that 99% of the time works for me is start looking for something else you can't find. Screwdriver, ratchet extension, Jimmy Hoffa, a rust free spot on the frame of your Elan....your hat will suddenly "be there" :laugh:
 
The surefire way for me to find the missing item is to buy a replacement. Last time was a pair of prescription glasses so no returning them. :cryin:

Good news is I finally got that free conoloscopy or whatchamacallit. :laugh:

All's clear and no sign of Doc's hat there neither. :thumbsup:

Funny thing is Doc, I threw mine away just like it a few months ago.
 
That was my last real "issue" one. I broke down yesterday, went to a local Army-Navy store and bought a counterfeit... it just <span style="font-style: italic">feels funny</span>. Seems to me th' brim is a tiny bit too wide, th' thing is too stiff.

I'm gonna throw it out inna back yard fer a month.
That oughta give it a more "proper" character. :smirk:
 
I just ... ~tried~ to put the one I used to wear on field operations; it seems to have shrunk over the past mumblemumble years... looks like a tiny little hat sittin' on top of a gianormous knoggin' now :\
