Bonnet prop rod bracket color

I'm conflicted as to what color to paint the bonnet prop rod bracket - the part mounted on the radiator bracket (BN2) that has the big rubber thingie that the rod gets pushed into when it's not holding the bonnet open. Black or body color? The Concours Guidelines are not clear.

Thanks.

Bill,

In the January 2009 edition of the National Concours Originality Guide, page 56 about the middle of the page it reads for 100, "Radiator securing brackets and their body mounting bolts were painted body colour"
To elaborte on that, it means they premounted those 4 top brackets before the body was painted. The securing bolts at the radiator end are not painted.

Yes, but that's the vague point. Is this bracket that holds the rubber that secures the prop rod considered a radiator bracket too and thus painted black?

Yes, it is considered a radiator bracket too and thus painted body colour. The bottom brackets are painted black, but all four top radiator brackets including the prop rod rubber weldment are body colour.
