Bonnet alignment pins

Has anyone installed bonnet alignment pins on the sill/bonnet contact area? I'm considering a pin with a nylon or brass bushing receiver for front tilt bonnet alignment. Thoughts?

It will be very interesting trying to get them to engage/disengage since the hood pivots up/down.
If you put a slot in the sills it could work but a hole would be a problem

If you haven't already, look at the Speedwell solution for this one. I wonder about ensuring alignment if bonnet is taken off with any regularity.

Thanks guys! I'm not a big fan of speedwells solution and think a pin that doesn't extend too far might work. I've looked at adjustable pins with threaded ends and nylon/delrin bushings that would press in place so it doesn't rattle too much. I figure that a pin mounted to a captive nut would allow enough movement to 'self center' while maintaining alignment.

I haven't seen the Speedwell parts so I cannot comment.

If you are trying to do this on a budget and don't mind borrowing from other cars, look at the conical rubber bonnet supports from the Spitfire/GT6 and the mating sheet metal seats.

I forget, Rut, how are you going to latch the bonnet again? It would be possible to center everything with the latch. I've seen the later type of latch mechanism set up to work at the back of the
