He's good IMO - he's not a "pretty boy" Bond at all, which is a lot of the appeal I think. He's not afraid to take a few hits (or give them), and no double entendre based script either

First R rated Bond movie right? Saw it friday afternoon. Great action, fight scenes are brutal, has gadgets but the story is not driven from one gadget to the next. Some serious character development of Bond gaining his '00' status and the cold hearted detachment that it takes to be a '00'.

Also saw an interview with Daniel Craig on Charlie Rose, he's contracted to do 2-3 more Bond movies. My only question is... will they be new ones or remakes like they have done in the past?

Saw it this afternoon. Didn't expect to like it - we've done every "James Blonde" joke in the book over the last few weeks.

Thought it was pretty good. In fact I'd go so far as to say that he's the 2nd best Bond ever - after the aforementioned Scottish gentleman.

This from someone who expected to hate it.

Good movie. I saw it Friday night, and Daniel Craig exceeded my expectations. I'd certainly add the DVD to my collection.

Oh - one thing in the movie that was amusing. First car you see Bond driving is.... a Ford. There was a snicker from the audience when they saw the "Ford" on the car.

hah... I watched this last night with a cousin. I definitely snickered when I saw the Ford, but then that also made me open my eyes a little and think about which company actually made the cars in the movie... There were Range Rovers, Jags, Astons, and a Maseratti that I could easily identify in the various backgrounds. If I'm not mistaken, Ford has stakes in most of those companies.

I thought Ferrari managed Maserati and that both were owned by Fiat. Did something change that I missed? They certainly use some parts in common.

Fords got no current interests in Maserati, but all the others are part of their PVG (Premier Vehicle Group).

yeah... I didn't mean to include Maserati in the "Ford has stakes in most of those companies" statement. An over whelming number of cars in the movie had some sort of Ford influence ... not all, but most.
