MGA bolt strength

I'm converting my MGA to disc brakes. the kit came with these to types of bolts which do i use to attach the disc to the new hub?
and what torque setting ?

I would use the right hand (three lines) as they are marked grade 5 bolts.

My manual (Midget) says 48 lb/ft for caliper to hub.
40-45 disc to hub.

can I use a nylon lock nut or will the heat be too much?

I would not use either of them. Go to a supplier and get some proper grade 8s.
The one on the left is a British fastener for general assembly. Right one is hardware store junk.

great. just the reason I asked. where can order grade 8 imperil bolts.
oddly life has me living half way up Norway.

Try eBay first off, as this will probably be the fastest and least expensive.

The correct fasteners are UNF (SAE fine thread). They should be available from most UK hardware sources. I reiterate the earlier post: use Grade 8 fasteners. The setscrew (bolt) head will have 6 lines radiating from the center, much in the way the Grade 5 (your right hand pictured bolt) has 3 lines. Grade 8 are nominal aircraft quality and are highly recommended for safety.

Try you local Caterpillar dealer.Cat makes their own.
Higher quality than either of those.
