Yes, it's new 1/4 leaf spring time. Met person at Chicago swap meet a few weeks ago. He has new, made-in-England 10 leaf springs.

Question: Would those be better than the not-made-in England Moss/Brit. Vic. leaf springs?

And now a big Question: Should I use 8 springs (deleting spring 1 & 3 or springs 2 & 4) or should I use the 10. I would rather not try it one way and then have to go through process of doing the re-install again.

p.s. If the answer is to delete springs. How do you number them. Is the #1 spring the smallest one on top or vice versa?

All of the springs come from England but leafs nowadays are made from Chinese Steel and "assembled" in England. I think MOSS and VB get their springs from the same place. Now if they are NOS springs that is a different story. Someone else will answer the spring numbering question.

Before changing springs out, what is the shape of your rear shocks? Have you updated with shocks from Peter C. Shocks not only control compression but also rebound of the springs. After I changed and rebuilt the front end of Bugsy my '68 I tried to scrimp on rear shocks and add fluid thinking that was all they needed. Shortly thereafter I realized that Bugsy needed shocks nopt only in the front but in the rear as well. Made a significant improvement in handling and ride once I changed the rear shocks out to match the fronts.
 
Indeed. "Assembled in England" out of chinese steel.
The leafs are stamped with chinese letters and can be seen if you look hard.
 
One is the shortest, you have many many options here.

I removed two or three leaves, placed spacers in the mounts (under the spring) to lower it further and then a wedge on the passenger side to make it a little lower than the drivers.

When I sit in it is level and also over time the should balance out and be level without me.
