With Christmas approaching, we all have our family traditions ... many focused on food and drink. My maternal grandfather was a Lithuanian coal miner from the Pennsylvania coal region. At Christmas, they made a drink called "boilo" which was a mixture of citrus, honey, spices and alcohol. Brewed some myself yesterday for Christmas gifts. My Mom's recipe specified as the key ingredient "rye - (moonshine if you can get it)", Now, I just use 191 proof grain alcohol
It's served warm and sipped. Anybody else have some Christmas favorites?
