Body Installed Today, YEAAAA!

After a number of years of re-installing everything (mostly) on the frame of my TR3A I gathered some buddies and with the help of my roll around A-Frame got the body installed on its frame.
Of course, as you should be able to tell from one of the pictures, my first rigging attempt was fairly dumb! After I fixed that, everything went resonably smooth. Had to remove a few things auch as, hand brake handle, distributer and wires, oil dip stick and the carb to carb pipe. Would have been easier without the carbs but we were able to manage our way around them. All in all a succesful and entirely satisfying bit of work.

I want to thank all of you that helped along the way with, parts, answers, pictures and just being there when my enthusiasm was at rock bottom!

There are two pictures, click on body installation to see both pictures.

Best Regards, Tinkerman

Yay, indeed!

You'll be riding before the snow flies, for sure!

Congrats Dick!

It looks like you already have the gas tank and seat in place, so how bout throwing a couple of tires on there as well and try a little test run!

Dick:
You had better pick up the speed since TRA is only a little over two weeks away and it is just down the road from you! Would love to see you and June again.

Looks real good! But I'm with Moses on this one, Tink would have to work 24 hrs a day to get it done in two weeks. I spent several months finishing up everything after the body shell was on, and I had all the sub-assemblies ready to go.

However, I found that the work after the tub was on was the most satisfying of the whole project. Everything you do makes the car look better and more complete.

Take your time. This is when the fun really starts.

It's a car again. It feels good to see progress when doing a restoration. Looks like a first class job.

I like the funky angular look it has without the front wings (fenders) in place; looks like a lot of modern cars (if you squint a bit)

Great color choice. Car looks graet. Congrats!
