TR2/3/3A Body back on Frame [56 TR3]

I'm finally getting close to fitting the body back on the frame. I've been putting off the temptation to ensure that I've got things done that are much easier to accomplish while the two are apart. So exhaust is back on, brake lines and emergency cable are in, fuel line is complete now except for fuel tap, transmission and diff are topped up, starter and generator rebuild, tested, and installed. I still want to replace cooling system hoses and coolant. Assume vacuum lines and fuel line from fuel pump forward can go on fairly easily later. What else should I consider checking/fixing before reassembly? Cheers, Mike

I just did this about a month ago with my 57. I actually ran mine with an aux fuel supply so that included the radiator, hoses (heater lines plugged) temp and oil gauges, and intake with carbs. I removed the carbs and intake for the install. Leave the hand brake lever off. It's nothing but trouble. Get the steering components in less the box/shaft. Leave the cross bar off, or at least loose, it interferes with the steering box install. I also had the pedal box, throttle cross shaft, heater, gas tank, steering shaft braces, starter solenoid, and control box on the tub. It helped balance it out. I can't think of anything else I should have done that I'm regretting today.

Steering and suspension are done ... although I should make sure to grease all lub points. Guess I'm on the right track  Thanks for the suggestions. Cheers, Mike

I am waiting for the pics.

Cheers,

She is going to be a beauty! What about the windshield wipers mechanism? Is that already in place behind the heater?
It will be REALLY tough to put in later.

Hello all,

I would recommend buying parts through British Sports Car Restorations. They are a Moss distributor who gives 16% off Moss' regular prices and 6% off Moss' sale prices.

I have ordered parts from them several times and have always received great service. Their web site is at www.bscr.com.
