My father's 1995 XJ6 has recently sprung an oil leak (I told him it was British.....it was supposed to do that) that was quite heavy. The dealer told him that there was a problem with the sump.........You bet there was! I looked underneath it todayto find a great wodge of silicone around the drain plug, and despite this the oil is leaking around it. His local Jaguar dealer is the only one who changes the oil.....guess who's gonna get it?

Steve,

This was a licensed Jaguar repair shop?? Surely it couldn't have been silicone... the manual clearly calls for chewing gum.
