BN7 Heater switch operation

I have yet to drop the heater control on my new car to inspect the sliders and the two pull switches. This isn't addressed in the standard Healey shop manual, so here goes. What switches on the fan motor? I attempted this while driving the car home from up north, and in addition to not being able to get the fan going, I concluded that the water cutoff (its little handle being missing) was probably shut off, as well. I know I need to get a better book, but I would appreciate help with this elementary issue. No, the car didn't come with an owner's manual.
 
The central 'lever' - air temperature control - on the heater control panel slides sideways right, it also pulls out - heater boost switch - , if you pull it out, your fan motor should work, push it back in to stop it.

I would suggest that you get yourself an 'Owners Handbook' to go with the workshop manual, it should fill in all the missing details. We have one over here ( new Print) that sells for ÂŁ9.95 plus postage, not sure what that converts to in dollars, but it is not a lot of money. I have a genuine 100/6 one that I had with my first Healey ( second hand car ) and inside it is a receipt for engine oil for a 3000 dated 6 April 1966 belonging to a Sir J ? can't read the name.

Just looked into it a bit further, seams that the garage in Frizinghall was part of the Appleyard group - Applyard was the chap who used to rally the Jaguar SS 100 with his wife

I did, and it did, with a roar. Thanks for saving me a lot of probing. This was as unlikely as finding the reset for the trip recorder in my Porsche 968, a real mystery for those who don't have the owner's manual. In that case I do. Thanks.
 
Even if the water valve handle is broke you should be able to tell if the valve is open or not. I believe the knob should be down in the closed position and up in the open position.
