My fuel pump stopped pumping fuel at a most inopportune time (Is there a good one?). I don't have a wiring diagram handy. Does the fuel pump have a FUSE that might have blown or should I just get in there and replace the pump?

No fuse. It's either a solid white or possibly a white with "stripe" wire.

Did you try "banging" on it (key on) to see if it would start pumping again?

If you're concerned its not getting power, jump it off the battery to test.
 
This is a long shot, but I once did a side-of-the-road pump swap outside Moab, UT on my BJ8 only to (eventually) find out that the power connection at the fuse block had come loose. The pump on a BJ8, at least, has its own power circuit. Check the easy stuff first :wink:

When I crawled underneath to start hammering on it, I noticed a bare bayonette connector. Then I found a lead that belonged there. Must have vibrated loose I guess. Stuck the two back together (well crimped this time) and voila - it worked again. (Too bad I didn't find the disconnect till after I called the towtruck).

Good for you!

You have to figure, these are pretty simple cars, so unless it's fresh from a ground-up restoration (where absolutely <span style="font-style: italic">anything</span> can be wrong) the problems will be simple too, as per Bob :wink:
