what side of the knob is the reverse on? R or L? also, what is the shift pattern?

Tim,

For the BN-2:- Reverse is left and down. The whole shift pattern is conventional ie. first up left, second down left, third up right, fourth down right. Only the BN-1s with the three speed gearbox had an un-conventional shift pattern.
