BN2 master cylinder bleed

Can anyone tell me if a new master cylinder for a 100/4 can be bench bled, is it nessesary before installing and how is it done? Thanks Danny

I have had some success filling the master before installation. I just poured in some fluid to one of the openings and pumped it up a bit then installed it. The reason I did this is that I could not get it primed and bled once installed so a preliminary bench bleed was necessary to break the air bubble that would not release in the master once installed.

I have always wondered how you install a master cylinder pre-filled and not leak fluid all over the place on install, but maybe there is some trick I don't know or I am misunderstanding the procedure. So I too am curious as to the best way to do it without making a mess.
