Rebuilding my frt susp. all new parts,Went to reinstall cross tube to new ball joint ends but seems to be to long by 3/4 inch.aligned wheels.any klues new ball ends longer then orig. bought from ah spares. Thanks for any advice. Dan

Is there any chance the steering rods were assembled "inverted"?

I know that it's possible to do on a Spridget...

Did you compare all the new parts with the old ones, to see if there was a difference there?

Was a few years ago, but I think when I did the same thing I think I went ahead and cut them down (I assume you are talking about the threaded ball joint ends being too long, wasn't entirely clear on that) but, I also seem to recall that I didn't need to as I could have just threaded the longer units into the cross rod.
