Hello,
I bought a set of pre-made to length but not pre-bent conifer brake lines (brake pipes) for my BN2. I'll try to make a long story short but I fought with getting the rears routed, I can swear these are a few inches short, although my car did not have the original factory lines to compare against. I am talking about the two lines that go from the T on the axle housing over to the wheel cylinders.
The fellow I bought them from, as well as Moss, ahead4healeys, etc. and even classic tube show the same brake line set for a BN1 as a BN2. I don't understand how this can be correct, aren't the rear wheel cylinders in a completely different position on the backing plate on an BN1 versus all the cars with the hypoid rear end? The 100 factory parts list gives different part numbers for the two rear lines for the early or late axles.
Shouldn't the late BN1 and BN2 have the same rear brake lines as a BN4 and on? Maybe this has been asked and answered but I searched and couldn't find anything, hopefully there is a 100 expert that can shed some light on this before I contact the guy I bought them from.
Thanks,
Walt
