BN1 Turn Signal Switch

Hi
I've been gone for a while, beating cancer, but now I'm trying to finish up my 1955 100 BN1. It has been many years since I took the turn signal switch apart and now I can't quite remember how some of the parts go back together. Does anyone have pictures of the switch in various stages of rebuild? Or is there a web site somewhere with pictures or drawings? I may even be missing some parts, just don't know at this point.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Sopp

Congratulations on your fight; don't ever give up!

Thank you for the quick replies. They answered most of my questions. I seem to be missing the tiny spring and plug that cancels the signal when you turn the wheel. I've looked through my boxes of left over parts but have not found them. Can they be purchased somewhere? If not I'll try to recreate them, as I've done on so many parts that are unavailable.

Unfortunately, getting healthy cost a lot of money, thus when finished, the old girl will have to be put up for sale. I'm about 95% done. Seats are at the upholsterers, need a windscreen wiper motor, finish the turn signal switch, and a couple other minor things to be complete. Hope to have all wrapped up by month's end. Building a web site to show pictures of the restoration and give all pertainent info. I'll post the site when completed.

Thanks again,
Sopp

I wanted to include a picture of some turn signal parts that I have questions about, but I can't figure out how to post a picture. The icon above wants a complete URL but my pictures are just on my desktop and have no URL related to them. How do I post them?

Thanks,
Sopp

You have to upload the photo to a photo web site and then link to them there. I use Picvault. When you upload the photo it will give you it's URL that you can then copy and put in the Forum box when it asks for it.

If the pictures appear, then you have taught me well. Thank you.
This is the piece that I believe is supposed to hit the 2 little fingers and cancel the turn signal. Problem is that it sits about 1/2 inch from them. It would probably hit them if the upright part was bent back to being straight up. Or should it just be bent from the bottom until the top part hits the fingers? Or is this even the correct piece? This piece is completely different from the one in the pictures you gave me to look at.
Thank you again.

How do I "alternatively upload as "attachments".??????

I have my shutterfly pictures "locked" so that the car does not wind up on Craig's List tomorrow for sale by someone in Nigeria.

What a world we live in...........................

Go to "file manager" at the bottom of the window and choose your picture file (must be <100kb size).
Personally I used Photobucket because the link shows up with a jpeg extension. Picasa shows as a http link.

I used to use Photobucket until I set up a file for my ALFA Romeo, locked it as tight as I could, gave out the password to NO ONE, and had over 300 views in 3 days, and started getting emails from people who had no legitimate way of seeing my photos.
Shutterfly has better security, but in order to make people feel more popular, every time you log in it automaticly adds "7 views" to your total. Plus every photo added, moved, or tagged counts as a bunch of views. No one has seen my Healey album yet but I have several hundred "views".

It would only let me add one photo to file manager. Hope it shows up.

BUT, is it the correct piece? Is it the correct shape? Am I missing something else? The top end of this piece is about 1/2 inch away from the fingers that cancel the switch. Do they need to be bent inward so that they will touch the fingers? I sure wish I would have taken some pictures 12 years ago when I took this apart. Of course I din't plan on 12 years passing before reassembly.

Thanks for putting up with all these questions.
