I am in tears. I bought my BN1 in 1957. In 1958, the transmission gave out, and I had it repaired. New input shaft, new cluster, new second. I was told after it was done that a kit had been made available by the manufacturer, but my dealer didn't use it. It has been running great ever since, as I make it a practice never to allow the overdrive to shift in second. Driving home tonight I thaught there was a strange note to the exhaust in second. the next time I used second, there was a loud expensive repetitive sound. Are there any BN1 transmissions out there? (I want to keep it original).

Welcome to the forum. A fun & useful place. BN1 three speed transmissions & parts are becoming very scarce. Quite a few owners just convert to the BN2 & up four speed. It is a much better transmission & would take very little away from the originality. Parts would be much easier to find.
If you are intent on fixing the three speed, contact "British Car Specialists" at 1-209-948-8767. Or one of the Eastern specialists such as Hemphills, 1-410-788-2291. Good luck,
