BN1 Trafficator

My trafficator is missing the centering collar or spring so I’m going to turn a simple soft nylon bush to hold the top of the stator central.
However my problem is it has never cancelled. I suspect the hub is missing a location peg for the alloy cancelling ring which is currently free floating.
Can anyone confirm correct assembly ?

In Austin-Healey parlance, a "trafficator" is the round turn-signal/horn button switch with the Bakelite crown, located in the center of the steering wheel.

I must learn to speak fluent Healey. I have worked on a few, but never noticed a language problem.

Because I lean tward the pedantic I had to look this up. The Google answer indeed suggests that a manette is a bar or lever used to operate a machine. A trafficator is defined as a turn signal indicator lever that flips up as in the photo. I fear trafficator is way too far imbedded in big Healey lore to be changed for absolute correctness. I've learned something that I never even thought about is pretty much wrong. Has anyone done a trafficator mod on a big Healey? Perhaps it could be strapped to the windscreen post.......
