BN1 Ground cable

Where does the ground cable attach on a 1954 BN1. We cannot seem to find any open holes in the firewall area. Assume the other end goes on a transmission bolt but may be incorrect.

G'day Joe, if you are referring to the "earth" strap from the engine to the chassis, you should find a captive nut in the RH chassis rail close to the bell housing. At the engine end the strap is attached under the head of the bell housing bolt below the starter motor.
Cheers,
Alwyn

Should be a hole with a captive nut inside on the right side chassis rail.* The cable should be attached to one of the bellhousing bolts at about the 4-5 o'clock position.

* That's where it attaches on a BN2 and BJ8; assume BN1 would be the same.

I Prefer to use the lower starter mounting bolt.

After all what is drawing the larger current?
