Hi Guys,
I am looking for a replacement VIN plate, Not the early plastic one from the inside the car or the one that goes on the engine bulkhead but the one located on the chassis in on the right side of the engine bay.

Looks like the attached, as you can see my one if pretty munted (NZ term). Its also incorrect but that is a different story.

Any ideas on where I can get one made much appreciated.

Hey Dougal,
Go the Clarke Spares in US. Todd sells correct reproduction type tags and imagine he can make up one of what you need. His website is:www.clarkespares.com
Real good guy to deal with.
Regards,
Mike

Thanks Mike I have sent him a picture I know he does the engine tags but was not sure about these ones. I have never seen them advertised and the font is a bit different to others.

Todd at Clarke spares got straight back to me and he can do the stamping but would need me to supply the plate. Has anyone got any good pictures of a blank plate?

From my one I can see "Chassis No" not sure if this part was originally black or not??

Hi Dougal,
Yes the "Chassis No" area did have a black background. Most have been washed clean by now though. The plate is attached to the chassis rail with "spiral screws" which are installed by driving in with a hammer. The engine number plate was attached with the same type of fastener. Good luck in locating those!

Todd Clarke also sells them for just a minor amount !
From Clarke Spares: F76S - Rivets, if required are .30ea.
Cheaper to buy from one place to save shipping and handling.
