I'm in the home stretch for my BN2 restoration (been saying that for two years now). Since I got the car in boxes I didn't have the luxury of seeing how assemblies were put together. I don't generally like puzzles, but this one has been fun. I have all the pieces and hardware for my windshield assembly but have not been able to pin down the material that goes in the slots, against the glass, on the 4 sections that makeup the glass frame. Moss shows some of it but doesn't sell it. I ordered a "kit" from V. B., but in all honesty it seems like they said "here try this stuff, it might fit the need"( they gave me a length of 1/4" by 1/4" rubber that fits into the side pieces, and a roll of 1/16" X 2" wide rubber sheet that is too thick to wrap around the edge of the glass anywhere it goes in the frame). I'm all squared away for the frame to shroud seal, that is not the issue. What materials have those of you who've done this used (what did the factory use?). I'm tempted to dry assemble it, tape off the glass, and then disassemble the frame and use the flowable clear RTV silicone seal to go in the channel of the four frame members. Any thoughts from those of you in the know would be appreciated. Authenticity is not an issue for this.
