It is amazing that Beverly Hills Car Club - actually a car sales business, not a club - continues to find derelict and used-hard Healeys to offer for sale. Yes, they're in southern California, but still.

I also wonder who buys cars like that one since they look only barely restorable, are not bargain-priced by any means, and there are many better cars available that will need far less resurrection. I've never heard of or from anyone who bought a Healey restoration project from them.

I bought my BN2 Nasty Boy from them, very easy to deal with. They answered all of my questions and had very detailed pics of the car. The price was fair and negotiable, I bough the the car thinking it would need some work but it arrived better than expected. I'm always on their website checking inventory.

Glad to hear from a satisfied customer. I actually once visited one of their warehouses - the main, retail, store-front warehouse I gather - and they have a variety of cars in, let's say, a "variety" of conditions. I also check their website and even get email alerts from them when they list a Healey, MG, Triumph or Alfa. Online car shopping is irresistible, and there's no harm in it if you don't actually buy something that way - sight unseen.

I do still wonder, however, about the really trashed cars like the one that started this thread. Does anyone ever really buy anything that bad at any price? OK, fifty bucks and I'll get it out of your way... (the grille looks salvageable).

It will be a very brave person who undertakes the restoration of that hulk. Probably more rust there than car.
