BN1 and BN2 two-tone

I'm thinking of going two-tone on my (now) Reno Red BN-2. I'm thinking of black for the lower color. Does anyone know how carefully the original car was masked and painted? Would the black wrap around the beading on the wheel opening on the front fender? How about the inside edges of the front fender and the door - the parts that would be visible only when the door was open? Would the lower flange and bottom surface of the outer sill be painted? How about the bottom surface of the rear fender - aft of the wheel? I'm thinking that probably what was done was the area was only masked along the accent line and painted before the body was mounted on the chassis and whatever got black (in this case), got it. Open the doors or peer around the fenders and you'd see overspray and no hard mask lines. Not that I'll do it that way, of course!

------- No you be thinking up the wrong tree.

Of course not that's why you asked. Others will be along and fill in with greater detail I am sure.----Keoke- /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Hello Bill, on my duotone the painter was very careful to mask a definite line on the inner doors about 1/4 to 3/8 inch extending around the whole door. The lower sill also was painted so when you opened the door and looked down you would see the lower body color extending under the trim plate, in your case black. On the fenders, the whole lower portion was painted extending under the body as well.
