I have been restoring my 100 for 7 years. Most recently I put it in a very reputable shop to get the job done right . Three years ago I had the transmission rebuilt in CT and then stored it. The car has just been road tested with about a 100 miles on it. It constantly pops out of reverse. I told I need a layshaft for 1st gear and reverse. Hard to go back and complain to the CT shop after three years so does anyone know where I can locate these parts. I know the 3 speed is difficult to locate. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

dogs, you say the rebuild was done in ct, without "bashing" the shop can you tell us whom it was?, locating the parts isnt that hard but youll feel it in the extra room youll have in your pocket, i know most of these shops and do business with them, unless you didnt replace the fluid or there is no fluid in the trans. or the old fluid turned to sawdust it should still shift well, how did it shift three years ago?, if the shop is still around id go back to them and simply explain whats happening now without casting blame, you might get help. it also may be someone i know. welcome to the forum.

A lot of parts for the BN1 tranny are not real easy to find, but I believe you can still get a layshaft from the usual suspects (Moss,VB, etc.) at least you could when I redid mine a few years back.
I too would at least check with the shop that did the work, explaining the car has not been driven until now, they might not be legally obligated, but they might surprise you, or offer free labor or sme sort of deal.
I have had other things make a tranny pop out of gear including broken tranny mounts or simply the rubber gaiter being on wrong and pushing it back out, so check the simple first, not saying it isn't the internals, but always check the easy problems/fixes before spending big bucks and tearing thing apart.
