BN-1 Motor Mount Bolts

I have 2 questions, that I hope someone can answer:

1. Can somebody tell me what is the size of the 2 bolts that holds the plate onto the engine block. This plate then bolts the motor mounts to the frame. These are the 2 bolts that bolt directly into the engine block. They could be Whitworth?, they are a course bolt, NOT 3/8" fine thread.

2. Where can I buy these as Moss Motors and Victoria British lists them as "not available".

Thank you in advance,

Tod

Hi Tod,

The bolts for the motor mounts to the crankcase on my BN2 are BSF 3/8"-20TPI 3/4" long. The bolts on my engine are marked with the "BEES" brandname. The bolts that hold the mounts to the front plate are BSF 3/8"-20TPI 7/8" long. In contrast the bolts that hold the mount to the frame are UNF.

Sources might be britishcarspecialists.com, britishfasteners.com I just re-finished my engine that was rebuild by the previous owner but never made it to the road. I might have some bolts left but would need to check if the threads are still useable, I re-used the best ones in my restoration.

A local club and forum member loaned me BSF taps/dies to chase the threads, which was very useful.

Bert
