BN-1 Interior Questions

I have a 1955 100 BN-1 that I am restoring. I am in the final interior phase, with 2 questions. As I can't remember as I took apart 4 years ago.

1.) Parcel Tray- Was the edge just screwed to the fresh air duct and the right side of the passenger compartment or did it have a metal support bar on the right side?

2.) Padded arm rest that lays over the transmission tunnel - I have found the 2 holes on the fixed rear metal transmission tunnel. Does the padded arm rest get "lift-a-dot" studs or snaps. The "concours Book" says snaps go on the front and rear. Snaps get attached to the carpet that goes over the transmission tunnel

I'm not 100% sure what you are asking but ..... the tray was screwed to the fire wall. The arm rest had four tenax fasteners. the two front ones were attached to the carpet that covered the tunnel , and the two rear ones were fixed to the drive shaft tunnel.

How were the tenax studs attached to the carpet?

So no metal support coming down from the instrument panel like the BN-4? And no screws to the right side of the side wall? (In Moss it shows a metal support for the BN-4).

Just installed these in our BN2. The parcel tray has, I think, 5-6 screws into the firewall on the rear underneath the tray that go into the scuttle, and, IIRC, one each on either side at the top of the triangular parts ('braces?') (sorry, can't give a better name for these). Don't recall if there's any on the brace on the side that go into the side where the kick panels are (don't think so). Basically, anywhere holes line up on the tray and the body we put a screw in. The one on the bottom far left underneath cannot be installed with the front part of the transmission cover--the 'boxish' part--in place.

As for the arm rest, if they're not there you'll have to drill holes through the transmission tunnel--and create holes in any padding and the carpet--for the studs after you've located the Tenax female fasteners. Ours had no holes--I don't know why--but the car didn't have the armrest when we bought it and the transmission cover might have been a replacement.

One other note: I installed seat belts in our car. For the inside belt anchors, I drilled holes for the bolts in the fixed transmission tunnel as far back and as low as possible, and I think it's the best location (the outer anchors went on the floorboards). Unfortunately, the rear corners of the arm rest do not clear the inside anchors so I'll either have to a) relocate the seat belt anchors (my dad suggested the rear bulkhead, but the anchors would be vertical and I don't care for that), b) move all four Tenax studs a couple inches forward, or c) have an upholster round the corners of the armrest to clear the anchors. I'm leaning towards (c).

I've seen several versions of the armrest; I don't really know what is original (we got ours from Moss). The resto book shows the rear of the armrest butted up against the rear bulkhead, and that's where we put ours but, of course, if we'd moved it forward a couple inches the seatbelt mountings wouldn't be an issue. You also have the cutout for the emergency brake mechanism and handle, and that also limits placement.
 
Tenax makes a "cloth based stud" that mounts to the carpet. Google Tenax fasteners and look at "images".

Thank you! I found the correct fasteners on Ebay (I think!) It looks like the "head" of the stud goes through the carpet, then you have a "toothed" round piece that treads over the stud? So, its tenax male and female fasteners that are used, not lift-a-dot. Not like the hold down straps used on the battery door?
 
Seeing as Bob brought up seat belts i thought I would show how I did ours in the BN4, which is similar to the 100's.
