Blue Spridgets

I am thinking about what color to paint a 1963 AH Sprite. Originality is not that important as long as the color looks good. I really like blue and think that it would look good on it. Problem, is, I have never really seen a blue Spridget except for bugeyes. Do any of you guys have any pictures of Blue Spridgets that I could see. I am open to other colors as long as they are not red or green. Thanks in advance, James

Iris is one blue. Riviera or Mineral are other choices. I just can't seem to find any pictures of cars in blues. They don't even have to be stock Healey or MG colors, just something that looks good. I just wanted to see some different colors on the cars themselves so I am sure that it is what I want. Thanks, James

Here's my ratty, blue '66 parts car. The paint was "chosen" based on an assortment of left-over paints on my shelf that I simply mixed together. I'm not sure what it should be called. Approximately, "royal blue", I guess. This car was bought cheaply here in the BCF classifieds and I fixed it up to give to one of my younger brothers. After I got the car running and driveable, I found a much better '70 car that I passed on to my brother. Last week, I pulled the engine and suspension from this blue one to be used in another project I am working on. I'll use the fenders and stuff like that as spares for my racer. For what it's worth, I agree that blue is a nice color....even a slapped on job like this.

Also, the top blue car in this picture of 3 racers belongs to my friend Mike French (taken at Watkins Glen...my car is in the middle):

Hey that's my 65 Midget that Bugeye 58 linked above. I really love the Riviera Blue as you rarely see one particularly with the original finish. That pic is very true to the actual color's appearance.
Everyone seems to want red or green but having seen several Bugeyes in Blue Iris I can say they looked very nice as well.
I bought some Riviera Blue metallic which I saw on an MGC and tested it on the underside of the V6 I am building and thought it was awful. Way too light, almost silver so I am going with Jaguar Saphire Blue which is very dark. I like B's in darker colors.
Midgets look better in the period paint colors which were available when they were built but some with a very dark modern metallic blue or green look nice as well. Hey it's your car so do it how you like it!

Courtney, great page!!
Also, welcome to the forum. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I have a 66 Midget that is a dark, almost electric, blue. I'm sure it's not a stock color, but it does go well with the stock blue interior.

The car isn't all that clean in the photos but it should give you a good idea.
