Blowin' my fuse!

I've got a 79 Midget. I've been using the fuses that were in it when I got it. Now, I've cleaned all that and want to put new fuses in, but the old ones have NO markings on them to indentify. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nopity.gif I took the Midget Owners Manual in to the parts store and fuses are no longer marked/labeled the same way.
What exactly am I looking for? I've seen 5A, 10A, 30A, 35A. The manual says something like 17amps w/a blowrate of 35amps? ...I'm not sure...the manual's outside, I don't sleep w/it anymore...and the dreams have turned into nightmares.
/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif Just give me a number, please!!!! I'm so close to being close to finished, I can taste it!

This might be more than your willing to get into but I acutally pulled that great example of electrical engineering out and replaced it with a new fuse box. Now I'm not reliant on 1 or 2 40 year old fuses to get back home.

Since I added relay's for the headlights and fuel pump -- I was able to get rid of the volt regulator as well.

Net cost was ~ $30 and a whole lot more reliable (mainly because I checked everything out before reconnecting).

My theory (right or wrong) is to upgrade to reasonably modern items. I can now buy "normal fuses" -- used 10's for minor and 15 for the headlamp / fuel pump. Also did this while swapping from positive earth to negative ground. Hoping to add a radio eventually. Just happy to get running after 2 years (did a engine / tranny / carbs rebuild / fuel system / brakes & master / etc ...)

Hope that helped you.
