Today started off as a gorgeous fall day -- sunny with some beautiful clouds, high to reach 60, with sun and clouds predicted all day. I got in the Jeep, and then decided to bundle up and take the TR-250.

At about 4pm, rain -- which was mercilessly left out of the forecast -- has rolled in.

Oh well. Good thing his top is sound and his wipers work.
 
Today was the first signs of winter with snows here in Portage WI. Fortunately the ground isn't cold enough for it to stick yet. I only hope we don't beat last years record of 130". I'm fine with the average 36-48" of the white crap.
 
Snowed down here too, likewise the ground was to warm still for it to stick. My youngest son works in landscaping, says that they are expecting over 140" this winter, road salt is being stockpiled.

Hope they're wrong! We had 108" down here last year, that was more than enough!
 
No snow in Pittsburgh yet. It's in the forecast, though. Had an email from a chap in Brisbane Australia. He says that their summer is just kicking in down under. :laugh:

Snow? What is this "snow" stuff you speak of? I have heard of it and even seen it in pictures, but never up close. Sounds like fun.

Woke up yesterday to a sea of white and promptly said the heck with this and went back to bed. That night went out to the movies in the 73B with its new top and when I came out it was coated in snow and ice. All the work to get the top installed and the heater working right were worth it as its now nice and toasty with the heat on.

Come on spring
 
Beautiful 60 degrees here today. We took the boat out last week but the kayaks are still down by the water - we were out in them yesterday. I helped a farmer for a while today and the apprentices were out working in tank tops!

We'll get hit sooner or later, though.

..if... just ~if~ the Rays manage to squeak past those guys, the weather here is not much better just now.
 
Wow, at least we didn't have snow! By the time I left work, the driving rain and reduced to a drizzle, so I stretched the tonneau over the passenger seat, cranked up the heat (to the extent that Triumph heat can in fact operate in a stage known as "cranked"), put the wipers on slow (all Lucas jokes aside), bundled up in my scarf and hat and hit the road in the elements. It was a GREAT drive!

About 50 miles north of here there were 16 inches of snow at Tobyhanna. They also had snow on the ground between Allentown and Philly, and John McCain had to cancel an outdoor rally in Quakertown yesterday morning.

And Doc, I will keep it a bit quieter this time: <span style="color: #FF0000">Go Phillies!</span>

Dale,

I have no problem with a couple of inches of rain in 24 hours. I think you had a bit more water than that recently. And Saturday we are supposed to be at 59*. And the golden and red leaves look fantastic on the hills around the valley.

I enjoy visiting the Caribbean, but I am not a fan of tropical storms. And it is fun to watch the grandchildren play in the snow in winter.

Hey Basil !!

That photo looks real familiar. We had a hot spa
on our rear deck in Maryland. It was really pleasant
to sit in the hot water, at night during a snow fall.

We would giggle as snow piled up on top of our heads
while the rest of us was warm and snuggly.

The 20 feet of bare body run back to the house was cruel!
