We tried to install the windshield on the BJ8 this weekend and had some problems. The replacement of a fender required some modifications to get the windshield to move forward. In the process, the seal kept coming out. After pushing it back in about 6 times, the rib was torn and it won't stay in anymore. Does anyone have a brand of seal or source that works well? This one was from MOSS. I also noted that the vent window seal maybe incorrect. I have 4 seals, two are the same window but too thick (as compared with the old one one one of the vent posts. The other two don't match either. So I am going to buy some new ones. Any brand or source preference?

Hi Jerry. SC Spares in the UK or Healey Surgeons here in the US can supply you with the correct parts. Look in the archives here on this forum as this Wes a similar complaint and discussion just recently.--Keoke
 
I read most of them, but wanted to get one more answer out of you. The repair manual says to install the posts to the car, and then attach the windshield with the 4 screws to each post. Is that the best way? I was trying to install the windshield and post together and could not get one side to move forward far enough. The windshield would not drop into dip. I had to bend or cut some corners of the replacement fender.

The KEOKE Modified repair manual :laugh: says to:

Install the Complete Windscreen With it's posts attached by sliding its side posts in to the fender slots of the car,

Then attach the windshield's posts to the car body using the screws and shims to be fitted at each side.
