I rebuilt the clutch m.c. over the weekend as it was leaking into the footwell and now I'm unable to clear the line of air. I had my wife pump the pedal as I crawled under the car to loosen the bleed screw and after a number of attempts I got a few bubbles out but the pedal is still spongy. I can depress the pedal a good inch before it begins to put pressure on the plate. Do these need to be primed after a rebuild? Never had this happen before. Would a vacuum pump, such as a Mighty-Vac, work?
