just installed my used thermostat in my powder coat oven. works like a charm although it's about 25 degrees out. guess that's not so bad for a GE antique. anyway, it's on to powder coating this weekend. big change from the blast oven i had last weekend. and man are those thermostats expensive /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

what temp do you need for powdercoating? I'm thinking about giving it a whirl, but would like to consider building something larger than a used electric oven.
 
350-400 degrees (300-350 for some special colors). basically my only limitation is the size of the oven. you also have to build some type of containment for the powder when it's applied. i built a plastic tent using 1x2's and plastic sheeting. i can hang my oven rack right in the tent and then transport the rack and parts right to the oven.
