Owned my 59 BugEye since 4-12-14. Got it from a friend who bought it for a few hundred as a barn find. Put it in his driveway for two years and did nothing but the car needed everything. I got it from him as his wife said, "Get that junk out of my driveway". Got the car completely apart by 5-18-14, got DMV done on 1-31-15, got engine running in November 2015, Pi day, 3/14 of 2016 I drove the car around the block a few times!
By November of 2016 I was driving the car on a regular basis but it still needed body work and paint. Got that done by 3/4/2017. Haven't done much bit since then but drive her and add bling. Haven't taken the time to do this till this coronavirus stay home thing. Have some projects to do on the car but it has been much more fun driving her that working on her. Have been in many events and even got a chance to drive her on Laguna Seca race way! The Golden Gate Austin Healey club has been great and I am looking forward to more events once this lock down is lifter! Blair

Hello Blair.

Welcome to the forum.

Well done getting your Bugeye Sprite back on the road where you can enjoy it. There will always be something to do on these old cars but they are great fun to drive.
