MGB Black MGB's

One question I have-Is black a rare color for an MGB?-I've only ever seen one MGB that came from the factory black, and it was a very early 1964 model.

Just curious.

I have a black pull handle car...but, yes, they are rare..it was always offered as a color but about the only time it was really used was in pull handle days & for the '79-'80 LE's...

Very rare, I understand. Plus, black doesn't really fit the chrome bumpered B very well-it hides the detail, like the headlight buckets, the rear end shape, etc. Looks all right on rubber bumpered cars, if only to help blend in the bumpers. Besides, by the late seventies, everything was burnt orange, metallic brown, and lemon yellows.

Thanks, guys.

I was thinking more the pull handle MG's...I forgot about the dozen or so 80 LE's that I've seen.

...and yes, I think it does hide the details of the car. I'd say the best color for the MGB is the soft orange they used in the late 60's-early 70's.
