I can't stand it. My friend Dave over in Erath, LA, came home this weekend after a road trip to Atlanta with, none other than, a 1953 TR2. I haven't gotten over to his house yet (just hung up with him, talked like he just adopted a new baby!) but I will as soon as I can. The entire chassis with engine and running gear has already been done, to Dave's specs yet, but has yet to be run! The body needs some work but very, very restorable.

Oh, and he stole it. I am not at liberty to say how much but he got a heckuva deal.

I'm jealous.....

As "our" agent we expect numerous pictures and updates as the rebuild progresses.
Initially we need the build number and any history of the early 2.
 
Sometimes the best deals are the ones that people get tired of working on or spending money on.

A few guys here in NE have bought half done cars for short money because of "restorer remorse."

Most guys don't plan on spending what it costs or the job taking as long as needed to do it right. No fault of theirs, just the fact that when you take something old apart, you are rarely "pleasantly" surprised.
 
Kinda like that. A 75-year-old gentleman moving to Florida from a 4-car to a 2-car garage. Something has got to go. Also might have a late Spit with an extremely good body but needs mechanicals. Hmmm, isn't that what one needs to start with?
 
A good friend bought a XK 140 that way. Everything powder coated and painted and the motor completely done . Old owner got about 5/8's done and quite. He picked it up for a song. Took him 3 months to finish it and it is concourse.
Now why can't I fall into something like that? I only fall into....
 
I second the above motions. I've driven those early TR2's one thing that impressed me.They need power steering!I do remember that.,Just like those 1953 Jag's like driving a tank.BUT we need to see a photo history of that relic.
