Hi
My first post after becoming the proud owner or should I say custodian of a 65 BJ8. I have done a few
basic mods to improve the drivability on our congested roads, new shocks, 4 pot caliper upgrade,
pointless fuel pump, aluminium sump, etc. Whilst the sump was removed the big end bearings were checked
for clearance and the cam inspected as much as you can without removal, the engine did have an annoying tap at idle pulled the followers and found one to be badly pitted and concave so hopefully this is cured.
Being a Healey I expect a few oil drips but would like to cure the rear main oil seal problem and I will probably purchase the kit to rectify this but my question is which way to pull the transmission through the cockpit or from under the vehicle, The manual I have recommends the later but is it possible? I do have the use of a two post lift.
look forward to any help on this I have been searching through the forums for info.
